Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU assignment in Indiana. This 13-week contract features 12-hour night shifts on a 12-bed unit with telemetry and critical care capabilities. RNs titrate drips and manage complex patients in a high-acuity environment.

The unit operates with a charge nurse and house supervisor on nights and weekends, with self-scheduling and access to support staff. A strong ICU background and ability to read cardiac strips are required.

Qualifications

• RN with ICU experience; minimum 2 years.
• Ability to titrate drips including pressors and insulin.
• ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Titrate drips such as Levophed, insulin, dopamine and heparin.
• Read and interpret cardiac strips; monitor telemetry.
• Provide care on a 12-bed ICU with 1:2 and 1:3-4 ratios.
• Self-scheduling with six-week look-ahead; participate in shift coverage.

Description:Unit has 12 beds, combining critical care and progressive care.Ratios are 1:2 for critical care and 1:3-4 for progressive care.Common diagnoses include sepsis, respiratory distress, overdose, alcohol withdrawal, and diabetic ketoacidosis.RNs are required to titrate drips including Levophed, insulin, dopamine, and heparin.Charge nurse is present each shift with a house supervisor available on nights and weekends.Nurse aids are available on this unit.RNs are responsible for reading cardiac strips.Equipment used includes ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP.Unit has telemetry capabilities and monitor technicians.Self-scheduling is available with a schedule released for six weeks.There is a weekend requirement of four shifts within a six-week schedule.Holiday requirements include one major and one minor holiday during the contract period.RNs may be placed on call if needed, but there is no outside call requirement.Floating may be required to medical-surgical units if needed, but emergency room floating is only for experienced RNs.Dress code includes navy blue scrubs.General orientation includes one day, followed by one to two days on the unit.Charting is done using the Cerner system.This is an acute care setting with a trauma level of 3.
