Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees within a safe and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to establish individualized care plans.
  • Identify teaching needs related to each patient's diagnosis by collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in medical records.
  • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, ensuring direct patient care through the nursing process.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
  • Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
  • Provide a safe environment, following hospital policies and procedures.
  • Contribute positively to team dynamics and promote unit efficiency.
  • Assume charge responsibility as requested after completing the orientation period.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
