Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift - 13-Week Contract

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety within their practice in accordance with the organization's core values.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within required timeframes, forming the basis for individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document assessments, interventions, and responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in the unit's patient rehabilitation program and ensure direct patient care per established nursing processes.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to relevant care providers to support continuity and safety.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, utilizing problem-solving techniques and effective delegation.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety in alignment with hospital policies and procedures.
• Assume charge responsibilities as needed and contribute positively to the unit's functionality and teamwork.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
• ACLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY)
• A minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position requires night shifts with a 3x12 hour schedule.
