Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking an ICU RN for a 13-week assignment in Long Beach, CA. The unit has 32 licensed beds with a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio. You will read telemetry, manage drips and ventilators, and participate in bedside reporting.

Shifts run 12 hours on nights, with a requirement to cover 2 of the 3 major holidays. The ideal candidate holds a California RN license, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications, and has at least 2 years of ICU experience.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required.
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years ICU RN experience.
• Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays.
• Huddle and bedside reports required.
• No acrylic nails or gel polish during assignment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret telemetry strips for assigned patients.
• Assist with drips including pressors and sedation; manage ventilators as needed.
• Provide bedside care and ensure patient safety in ICU 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Document and communicate patient status during handoff and shift reports.

Description:Unit consists of 32 licensed beds organized in pods of 8.The nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1.RNs are responsible for reading and interpreting their own telemetry strips.Assist with drips including pressors, antiarrhythmics, and sedation.Experience with ventilators is necessary.Clientist or intensivist is in-house.Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy are available 24/7.Shifts are from 0630-1900 and 1830-0700.Nurses are expected to float to Tele and any ED ICU/Tele holds.Common diagnoses include higher level neuro, cardiac, sepsis, stroke, and traumatic brain injury.
