Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to serve as House Supervisor on the Nights shift (7p-7a). The role involves administrative oversight of all department services, rounds to monitor care quality, and directing patient care activities as needed.

You will supervise staff hospital-wide, assist with after-hours procedures, ensure agency staff orientation, and support medical staff scheduling.

Qualifications

• Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• One (1) year prior experience as a Supervisor preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years acute care nursing experience
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct staff across all hospital services on the shift.
• Perform rounds to monitor care quality, patient flow and operations.
• Assist scheduling after-hours procedures and standby call staff.
• Ensure temporary staff are deployed and oriented per policy.
• Enhance patient/family experience with explanations of hospital policies.
