Independent-Nursing-Care in New York is seeking a part-time Home Care Nurse Educator to lead training and education for nursing and home care staff, ensuring compliance with NYS LHCSA regulations and DOH standards.

The role offers hands-on training, mentorship, and program development, with opportunities to shape the future of home health care within our agency, including travel within the service area.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in New York (required).
• CPR certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of home health care or related healthcare experience.
• Experience in staff education/training (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of NYS LHCSA regulations, DOH requirements, and home care standards.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and LMS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and lead orientation programs for new hires.
• Develop ongoing educational programs including clinical skills training and compliance updates.
• Conduct hands-on training for RNs, HHAs, PCAs, and companions on essential caregiving techniques.
• Ensure training materials comply with NYSDOH regulations.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to nursing staff and conduct competency evaluations.
• Support staff in maintaining certifications and licensure.
• Maintain training records and assist in audits and quality assurance.
• Stay updated with best practices and innovative training methods.
