Job summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct nursing care to residents and supervises nursing assistants to ensure high-quality care in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The RN also performs professional nursing services such as catheterization, wound care, and IV care, while fostering a warm and collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with an active, unencumbered state license.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, laws, and guidelines for LTC facilities.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required.
• Experience in Long Term Care preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties under active license within assigned responsibilities.
• Know residents, provide care per care plans and physician orders.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Develop and maintain rapport with staff and departments to ensure care.
• Assist with activities of daily living, meals, and social engagement.
• Communicate changes in resident needs to clinical leadership.
• Care for residents with dementia.
• Take on additional duties within knowledge and experience.
• Receive and give nursing reports during shift changes.
• Complete rounds with physicians as necessary.
