Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking an RN for the Michigan Medicine Geriatric Progressive Care unit in Ann Arbor. The role supports adult medicine patients from St.

Joe's and U of M EDs with a full benefits package and a 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM shift mix. Full-time and part-time options available, with every other weekend and holiday requirements for full-time/part-time staff.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from a school of nursing that allows sitting NCLEX to get RN license; BSN preferred.
• Current Michigan RN license.
• BLS; ACLS required for Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency departments.
• BSN degree within five years of hire/transfer to an RN role.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyzes patient information; develops, implements, evaluates and revises an individualized care plan.
• Uses teach-back to educate patient and family; prevents hospital-acquired conditions.
• Communicates status, goals and interventions during rounds and handoffs; adheres to HIPAA and mission.

Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: Registered Nurse Department: Michigan Medicine Geriatric Progressive Care All Shifts Location: Trinity Health Ann Arbor Position Purpose: The 4 North Michigan Medicine: Adult medicine patients admitted from both St. Joe's and U of M Emergency Departments. Specialty Centers. Competitive compensation Full benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, Life Insurance and Disability Shifts Available: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Status Available: Full time, Part time Every Other Weekend and Every other Holiday per year required for Full-time and Part-Time team members.

Required Qualifications:

Education Graduation from a school of nursing that results in the ability of the graduate to sit for the NCLEX exam to become licensed as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred.

• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• BLS.
• ACLS required for the following departments : Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency Experience Experienced Canadian Registered Nurses are encouraged to apply Graduation from accredited nursing program.

Effective January 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role. Knowledge of nursing theory, practice and age specific needs Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families. Critical thinking skills necessary to perform principal duties and responsibilities of job description. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care
