Job summary

Spencer Hospital is seeking an RN Float Pool nurse to support multiple units across the hospital, stepping into open shifts and ensuring continued patient care. The role rewards flexibility with a higher wage incentive for experienced staff and covers 12-hour day/night rotations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg experience or equivalent hospital experience.
• Critical care experience preferred.
• Willingness to fill the Resource Nurse role.
• Must have or obtain BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS, Hazmat, Mandatory Reporter, AMLS and NRP.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care across ED, ICU, Resource, Med/Surg, Birth Center, Behavioral Health, and Same Day Service areas.
• Use nursing process to deliver individualized patient care in various departments.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure total patient care and outcomes.

Position Highlights

Responsibilities

• Varying shifts in the ED, ICU, Resource, Med/Surg, Birth Center (post-partum) Behavioral Health Services, & Same Day Service Pre-Op and PACU.
• Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care in the various departments in the hospital.
• Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period.
• Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care.
• Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg experience required or equivalent hospital experience
• Critical care experience preferred
• Must be willing to fill Resource Nurse role
• Active IA RN license
• Must have or willing to obtain upon hire: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS, Hazmat, Mandatory Reporter, AMLS, and NRP (inhouse education available upon hire!)
• Must be a caring communicator, flexible, able to multitask and be comfortable with technological systems

Schedule

• Full Time benefit eligible
• 72 hours/pp
• 12 hour Day/Night rotation
• Weekend and holiday rotation per department requirements
• The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the hospital
