Job summary

AdventHealth Columbus NC is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time day shift to join a compassionate care team. You will perform and document initial and ongoing assessments, craft individualized care plans, administer medications, supervise nursing staff, and educate patients and families about the care plan.

The role emphasizes compassionate, evidence-based care, collaboration with physicians, and adherence to safety and infection control protocols.

Qualifications

• Must pass initial and ongoing patient assessments.
• Ability to develop individualized care plans with a team.
• Administer medications accurately and monitor responses.
• Supervise nursing staff and ensure policy adherence.
• Provide patient and family education about care plans.
• Assist physicians with bedside procedures.
• Demonstrate compassionate, safe patient care.
• Maintain infection control and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document accurate initial and ongoing assessments to evaluate patient conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with the interdisciplinary team to address identified patient needs and goals.
• Administer medications accurately and appropriately as ordered, monitoring patient responses and adjusting interventions as necessary.
• Supervise and guide nursing personnel in delivering safe, therapeutic, and quality patient care, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
• Provide patient and family education about the care plan, medications, procedures, and other relevant information to ensure understanding and compliance.
• Assist physicians with bedside procedures and prepare patients for tests, procedures, and surgeries.
• Monitor patient lab work for trends and report abnormal results for necessary actions.
• Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to policies and procedures and infection control protocols.
• Document all pertinent patient care information accurately and timely in the patient's medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement and research activities by engaging in unit-based initiatives and evidence-based practice projects.
• Respond effectively to emergencies by providing necessary interventions and coordinating with the healthcare team to stabilize patients.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
