Job summary

AdventHealth in Columbus, NC, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the full-time night shift. You will perform accurate patient assessments, develop and implement care plans with the interdisciplinary team, and administer medications while monitoring responses.

You will educate patients and families, assist physicians, monitor labs, and maintain infection control. A strong nursing foundation and English proficiency are essential; a commitment to teamwork is required.

Qualifications

• Must use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient and revise plan of care.
• Basic computer skills – navigate Windows-based programs.
• Fluent in English (read, verbal and written).
• Ability to use equipment to stabilize and monitor patients and use EMR/medication systems.
• Proficient clinical and critical-thinking skills.
• Commitment to hourly patient rounding and EKG interpretation training.
• Ability to prioritize multiple duties calmly in stressful clinical situations.
• Knowledge of nursing principles and pharmacology related to medications.
• Strong teamwork and effective communication with health professionals.

Responsibilities

• Sign on bonus up to $10,000 for eligible candidates.
• Perform and document accurate initial and ongoing patient assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with the interdisciplinary team.
• Administer medications accurately and monitor patient responses.
• Supervise nursing personnel and ensure safe, therapeutic care.
• Educate patients and families about the care plan and medications.
• Assist physicians with bedside procedures and prep for tests or surgeries.
• Monitor lab results and report abnormalities.
• Provide compassionate support to patients, families, and friends.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and adhere to infection control.
• Document all patient care information timely in the medical record.
• Engage in quality improvement and research activities.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with team to stabilize patients.
