Job summary

St Marys Hospital in Kankakee, IL is seeking a Staff RN Float for a full-time night shift to deliver safe patient care across multiple units. The role requires adapting to varied unit credentialing and maintaining the same standard of care.

You will guide patient/family teaching and collaborate with physicians on condition changes. The position requires a valid RN license in Illinois, BLS, ALS, and PALS/ENPC certificates with relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• One year acute care experience required.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 60 days upon hire and maintain current.
• BSN preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to practice independently within 24 hours of arrival on the unit.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care across units using nursing process.
• Orient quickly, seek information, maintain consistent care.
• Educate patients and guide family teaching; communicate with physicians.
• Adhere to EMTALA regulations and report abuse to appropriate agencies.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
