Job summary

Cynet Health seeks an ICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week Float Pool assignment in Phoenix, AZ. You will float among ICU, MedSurg, and Tele units with a 12-hour night shift schedule. Requires at least 2 years ICU experience and an active RN license; ACLS/BLS are preferred.

Responsibilities include bedside reports, reading telemetry, sterile field maintenance, Foley insertions and central line dressings. Travel between units is expected; shift huddles are part of the routine.

Qualifications

• Ability to read telemetry strips and operate respiratory support equipment.
• Competence in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for medical, surgical and trauma patients across ICU/MedSurg/Tele units.
• Participate in shift huddles and complete bedside reports.
• Maintain sterile fields and manage monitoring/respiratory equipment as needed.
• Readily float to assigned units; adapt to unit needs and schedules.
• Honor unit assignments and provide quality skin assessments within four hours.

Description:This position requires ICU Float Pool experience.Travelers must understand that they will be floated and will not have an opportunity to refuse assignments.A well-rounded ICU nurse is expected.Nurses need to have experience in a level I trauma center and a teaching hospital due to the complexity and high acuity of patients.The ICU Float Pool will care for medical, surgical, and trauma patients.Charge nurses will provide assignment sheets upon arrival on the unit.Each unit requires participating in shift huddles at the start of each shift.All reports are to be completed at the bedside and a quality skin assessment will be performed within the first four hours.The float pool will require the ability to read telemetry strips and operate various types of respiratory support equipment.Travelers are expected to maintain sterile fields and demonstrate competence in necessary nursing skills.Holiday shifts will be required based on unit needs.Scheduling occurs four weeks in advance and may change based on the needs of the facility.Nurses must be capable of providing care for critical patients across various ICU settings.
