Job summary

vTech Solution is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Float Pool with ER and ICU experience to provide primary care to ED and ICU patients. This role floats across units, supporting multiple nursing teams and participating in telemetry monitoring and rapid response activities.

The position requires a valid RN license, minimum 2 years in ER/ICU, BLS, and strong clinical skills. Shifts are 12 hours, evenings and nights, with a typical workload of 72–80 hours every two weeks.

This role supports various nursing units by assisting as needed rather than serving as a primary nurse. Key responsibilities include patient care, telemetry monitoring, participation in rapid response and code blue teams, and facilitating patient transport. The position requires strong clinical skills and adaptability to float across units in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit nursing.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with rapid response and code blue team participation.
• Telemetry monitoring proficiency.
• Additional certificates related to critical care nursing.

Special Considerations:

• Must have prior ER and ICU nursing experience to be considered.
• Position requires floating to multiple nursing units as needed.
• Member of rapid response and code blue teams with potential emergency response duties.

Scheduling:

• 12-hour shifts, primarily evenings and nights.
