Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a float pool position at a teaching hospital in California. A CA RN license and BSN are required, with trauma Level II experience; NIHSS is preferred.

Minimum 4 years ICU practice and ability to float within a 75+ mile radius are essential. The assignment features a 3x12 rotating schedule (12-hour day/night shifts), a 36-hour work week, and a 25-week term starting Oct 6, 2026.

Qualifications

• CA RN license required at submission.
• BSN required with teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Active AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 4 years of recent ICU experience; Trauma Level II experience required.
• NIHSS certification preferred; travel experience within 12 months preferred.

Responsibilities

• Float across TCUs, ICUs, ED, and PACU within 75+ mile radius.
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:2 and provide critical care.
• Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and patient care.
• Manage ventilated patients and complex respiratory needs.
• Maintain flexibility with 3x12 rotating day/night shifts.
