Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Float Pool covering Med/Surg and Tele at the Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center in Columbia, MD. The role involves floating between Med/Surg and Tele, with shifts rotating every 4 weeks between days and nights.

The RN coordinates care for assigned patients, leads a multidisciplinary team, and adheres to evidence-based nursing processes. Applicants must have ADN, RN licensure, CPR certification, and at least six months of

Unit/Role Info:

Float Pool - Med/Surg and Tele

*Floating would be between Med/Surg and Tele and the shift may rotate (days/nights) every 4 weeks.

The Registered Nurse coordinates care for assigned patients on a shift to promote the achievement of clinical outcomes. Provides direction to other team members to promote quality, safety, and excellence in care. Provides evidence-based practice care based on the nursing process policy, procedures, and protocols. Works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health care team to optimize patient care outcomes. Participates and promotes quality clinical improvement by supporting standards within a given care setting. Practices and promotes responsible cost effective use of resources. Completes all identified annual requirements and competencies for the patient population, care setting, department, and institution. Participates in the performance appraisal process. Demonstrates organizations core values on a consistent basis.

Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in nursing (ADN) (Required)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (Preferred) and
• Applicants with an associate degree in nursing will be considered. Per nursing guidelines, must matriculate into a Bachelor of Nursing program.
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire (Required)
