Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks a licensed Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive patient care using the nursing process. The role requires collaboration with physicians, psychologists, podiatrists, and other health professionals to promote health, prevent illness, and support patients and families.

Requirements include a nursing degree and RN licensure. BLS is required; ACLS/PALS may be needed depending on the unit.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment
• Depending on the unit/department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess and plan patient care
• Collaborate with healthcare team to deliver care
• Provide health teaching and counseling to patients and families

Education

Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred

Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Alabama or eligible

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required
