Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO seeks an experienced Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to join a collaborative surgical team. You will work alongside surgeons to provide exceptional perioperative care before, during, and after surgery.

In this full-time role, you will apply advanced clinical skills, maintain patient rights and confidentiality, and ensure high standards of care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Minimum perioperative nursing experience.
• CNOR and RN-First Assistant class required within one year of hire/transfer.
• BLS/ACLS required within first year.
• Demonstrates continued competence in assisting and in perioperative nursing.
• Preferred CNOR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for the care provided to assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of information.
• Performs duties consistent with Mercy mission and standards.
