Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing (IDFPR).
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire (AHA).
• Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR).

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon in general and specialized surgeries.
• Collaborates with surgeons and OR team to ensure trays, instrumentation, and supplies are ready.
• Provide patient care and support.
• Administer medications.
• Perform surgical procedures such as controlling bleeding, suturing, draping, exposure, and tissue handling.
• Position and prepare the patient on the operating table.
• Monitor vital signs and heart rate.
• Educate patient and family on operation and aftercare; communicate health to family.
• Perform post-operative assessments and monitor for pain or complications.
• Review patient history and health assessments.
• Monitor surgery site for healing or infection.
• Participate in research.
• Scrub and circulate as needed; assist in room turnover and supply coordination.
