Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse Inpatient for the 3S Observation Unit in Illinois. The role is part-time, with day shifts from 7:00am to 7:30pm and rotating weekends. The RN will assess, plan, and coordinate care for acutely ill patients, ensuring safe discharge or movement to inpatient units as needed.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN, is licensed in Illinois, and has BLS. Experience in an observation unit is preferred; ADN with commitment to BSN within three years will be

• BSN required and current State of Illinois RN licensure.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities.
• ADN acceptable if pursuing BSN within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data and develops an individualized plan.
• Directs care and coordinates use of any assistants.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff to plan and deliver care.
• Participates in governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Documents patient responses and adjusts care accordingly.
• Uses best available evidence to guide nursing practice.
