Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse Inpatient for the 7pm-7:30am shift on a 26-bed, high-acuity intermediate unit. The nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to acutely ill patients, with continuous cardiac monitoring and frequent assessments.

Requirements include a BSN, active IL RN license, BLS, and strong collaboration and analytic skills. ADN acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
• Strong analytic abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, plans individualized care, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress toward outcomes.
• Directs care and utilizes assistive personnel appropriately.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff; documents plan focused on outcomes.
• Participates in governance, committees and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses to nursing interventions and adjusts care plan accordingly.
• Uses best available evidence to guide practice decisions.
