Job summary

Backus Hospital in Connecticut is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the A4 unit. You will apply the nursing process, build a collaborative nurse-patient relationship, and assess and plan care to support patient recovery.

This night shift is 36 hours per week, with 7:00pm–7:30am hours, rotating holidays and every other weekend. Requires RN licensure in Connecticut; BSN preferred, BLS on hire, ACLS preferred. Backus Hospital is part of Hartford HealthCare.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of Nursing. BSN preferred.
• One (1) year RN experience and/or successful completion of the Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program.
• Current unrestricted license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical competence through utilization of the nursing process and development of a synergistic nurse-patient relationship.
• Assesses and identifies patient problems/needs, establishes a plan of care, implements and evaluates care provided to patients.
