Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff seeks an experienced RN for the Emergency Department in Tacoma, WA for a 13-week travel assignment. Shifts are 12 hours, nights, from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3-4:1 and 125–140 patients daily on a 33-bed unit with 2 trauma bays.

The unit offers 24/7 in-house respiratory therapy and pharmacy services, plus a dedicated IV team. Requires ACLS/BLS/NIHSS/PALS/TNCC certifications and a minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience.

Description:Candidates may not have been full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the organization within the past year.The unit has a capacity of 33 beds including 2 trauma bays.There are 5 psych/seclusion rooms on the unit.The average number of patients per day is between 125 and 140.The required nurse-to-patient ratio is 3-4:1.Emergency situations include stroke, STEMI, trauma, and acute coronary syndrome.Support staff includes nurse aides and paramedics, with security present 24/7.Weekend work is required every other weekend.Occasional holiday shifts may be necessary.Scrub color for nurses is navy blue.The charting system used is Epic.Shifts operate from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM.The nurse will provide care under the supervision of a charge nurse available 24/7.In-house respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24/7.The emergency department is equipped to handle vented patients.The nursing team will have a dedicated IV team available 24/7.Cancellation policy allows the hospital to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
