Description:Candidates must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays.The unit does not have a Fast Track.There is one triage room, and travelers will be expected to perform triage.There is no separate holding area in the emergency room, and emergency room nurses manage their own holds.There are no separate psych/seclusion rooms.In-house security is present.The unit sees 20-40 patients per day.State ratios are no more than 1:4.Common diagnoses and types of patients are widely varied and include all ages.There is one MD on staff at all times.There is no charge nurse, but there is one house supervisor at all times.Unit techs are available from 1200 to 2030 when possible.Respiratory therapy does ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKGs.Respiratory therapy equipment includes vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow NC, and Airvo.There are no monitor techs on this unit; nurses read strips.CT and X-ray services are immediately adjacent, and phlebotomy is performed by the phlebotomy team, although nurses will draw if starting IVs.Shifts are from 1900 to 0730 for nights and 0700 to 1930 for days.There is a requirement to work every other weekend.Holiday shifts are mandatory.There may be a call or standby requirement, with up to three cut/call shifts per 13-week contract.Floating to ICU is desirable but not required.Scrub color is navy blue.Unit-specific orientation is provided.Critical Access Client is a verified Level III trauma center.The facility can cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.The charting system used is Cerner.A BSN is not required.COVID vaccination is required.NIHSS certification is required.
