Description:The Emergency Room is a Level II Trauma Center and a Primary Stroke Center.The average number of patients treated in the ER per day is approximately 100.Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:4-5 based on acuity.Travelers are expected to float throughout the designated zone.The unit does not have separate psych or seclusion rooms.All staff must be in-state for the duration of the week of orientation.Standard emergency medications are used for patient care.RNs will need to be able to read and interpret telemetry as there are no monitor techs.Point of care lab testing will be performed by trained RNs.Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 and conducts breathing treatments and ABGs.Weekend requirements include every other weekend.Holidays are required every other holiday.The leadership will make scheduling decisions based on unit needs.
