Job summary

Medasource is seeking an ER nurse for a high-volume unit in Tomball, Texas. This role involves acute care assessments, IV starts, med administration, and rapid resuscitation in a Level III trauma center.

Must have ACLS and BLS with PALS or ENPC; TNCC/ATCN/CEN are a plus. Expect shift variability, a family-like team, and a commitment to patient safety.

Qualifications

• ER unit requires 24 beds and 54 staff with defined shifts.
• Experience in acute care ER settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acute care assessment of ER patients in Level III trauma center.
• IV initiation, blood draws, transfusions, meds administration, resuscitation.
• Assist with intubation, restraints, splinting, and moderate sedation.
• Flexibility to be placed on different areas of the unit as needed.

• Number of Staff – 54
• Type of staff:
  • Day Shift – 1 charge, 4 RN, 1 paramedic, and 1-3 sitters
  • Night Shift – 1 charge, 4 RN, 1 paramedic, and 1-3 sitters
• Patient Ratios – 1:4
• Type of equipment – Level 1, Lucas, Welch Allen vital sign machines, GE bed side monitors, and EKG machines.
• EMR – Meditech

Skill Set Most recruited for:

Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

• ACLS

List typical procedures performed on unit(s):

• Acute care and assessment of ER patients (Level III trauma center, accredited chest pain center, primary stroke center).
• IV initiation, blood collection, blood transfusions, medication administration, resuscitation of adults and pediatric patients, care of behavioral health patients, assist with intubation, restraint application, assist with splinting, and moderate sedation.

• Likes a family like atmosphere with a great team. Must be team orientated and willing to be flexible with where they are placed on the unit (triage, resus rooms etc.)

• Weekends are required (2 a month minimum). No call.
