Job summary

Creative Solutions Services, LLC is seeking an RN for the ED in Concord, North Carolina. This contract position runs for 13 weeks with a 12-hour night shift (7p-7a), 3 days per week, and a floating requirement across Region 1 facilities as needed.

Responsibilities include providing high-quality emergency care, patient assessment, medication administration, and coordination with the care team. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS; TNCC preferred, ED experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina.
• Minimum 2 years ED experience.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS required; TNCC preferred.
• Able to float to multiple facilities region 1.

Responsibilities

• Provide ED nursing care during night shifts.
• Administer medications and monitor vitals.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team.
• Float to designated facilities as needed.

Unit Information:
Minimum Years of Experience required:

• ED RN: 2 years ED exp (Resource Team)

Will you accept a first-time traveler: Not preferred but will consider (Resource Team) Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• Trauma level 3 – GSW, Stabbing, MVA, Falls, Stroke, Heart Failure, Chest pain, patient requiring fluid resuscitation/blood products, COPD, Cardiac Cath pre, ETOH/CIWA, IVDA, mental health, Respiratory illnesses, GI Disorders and infections, Liver Failure, AKI/CKD

Patient Ratios:

• RN: 1:5 max (acuity dependent)
• CNA: 1:7

Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:

• ED RN: Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI; Preferred: TNCC

Skills required:

• ED RN: Trauma experience, Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, conscious sedation, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, critical care drips, blood administration, etc.

Support within the Department:

• CNA – ratios vary
• Receptionist/HUC
• Charge nurse, 24/7 – may or may not have patients
• IV/VAT Team
• RT, 24/7
• Hospitalist, 24/7
• ED Physicians

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: EPIC
• IV Pump: Alaris
• Med dispensing: Omnicell
• Monitors: Phillips

Floating:

• Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable
• Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any Freestanding ED within Region, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH)
• If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)

Orientation (facility and unit):

• NEO
• 2 days departmental

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: every other
• Shift times: 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 3p-3a, 7p-7a
• No call for travelers
• Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
• RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
