Any additional information that would entice a worker to select your unit for their assignment: SDGH ED is comprised of a well-balanced tenure of nursing staff (newly graduated nurses – 30 year commitment). Our secret is our ability to maintain our small town hospital flair (close knit culture) while embracing community growth. During COVID, SDGH ED did not lose a single staff member to travel nursing, something we are proud of. We have dedicated CNC's on our unit who help support unit team members, to include self-scheduling which is a huge satisfier. We have a tremendous group of Providers who collaborate well with nursing and participate in our Unit Based Council on a monthly basis. This past year, we have hired on 3 contract labor nurses as our own- that's how wonderful being an ED RN at SDGH truly is.
