Floating Requirements: Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises

- Radius rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
Unit Information:
Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years ICU experience
- Will you accept a first-time traveler: No
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: - Ventilated Patients, stroke and thrombectomy patients, opti-flow, Bipaps, Overdose patients, endotool, CRRT, GI bleeds, some trauma patients
Patient Ratios: - RN: 1:1-3
- CNA: most times 1:10
Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
Skills required: - General ICU skillset: Critical care gtts experience – insulin, vasopressors, sedation, management of invasive lines (ART/CVP), Cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, ventilator management, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, etc.
Support within the Department: - CNA - Assist with turning, feeding, ADL's, blood sugars, lab draws, mobility
- No HUC/Receptionist
- Charge nurse, 24/7
- Phlebotomy – RN will be responsible; there is one person in the hospital that could be called upon
- IV/VAT Team
- RT 24/7
- Hospitalist 24/7
- Intensivist 24/7
- Telemetry monitoring - Hardwire monitors and travel tele boxes
Technology/Equipment: - EMR: EPIC
- IV Pump: Alaris
- Med dispensing: Omnicell
- Monitors: Phillips
- Unit specific equipment: Arctic Sun, Hemosphere, Belmont rapid transfuser, life flow
Floating: - Travel nurses will be first to float to other nursing units and provide flexible staffing support based on patient care needs and staffing demands. They will demonstrate adaptability and clinical flexibility when floating to other units. Will take patients within scope of practice on any unit (e.g. MedSurg assignment in ICU, MedSurg holds in ED, etc.)
- Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable
- Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises
- If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)
Orientation (facility and unit):
Scheduling: - Weekend rotation: every other
- No call required
- Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
- RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
- Shift times: 7a-7p and 7p-7a
- Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
