Job summary

The Arboretum of Winnie is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team with compassion and clinical excellence. In this role you will ensure high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and effective staffing across shifts.

You will mentor staff, partner with physicians, and drive care plans while maintaining accurate records and payroll integrity. This position emphasizes leadership, integrity, and a restorative-care approach in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Holds a current RN license in Texas and is in good standing.
• Proven leadership experience in long-term or geriatric care.
• Strong clinical skills with a restorative care approach.
• Knowledge of nursing home regulations and compliance standards.
• Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with company, state, and federal guidelines for nursing services.
• Lead the nursing team: recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and performance.
• Support direct care by stepping in on the floor when needed.
• Review payroll submissions for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain resident records with accuracy and proper documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians and teams to develop individualized care plans.
• Provide resources: ensure timely access to equipment and supplies.
• Coach and mentor nursing staff to improve performance and outcomes.
