Job summary

The Arboretum of Winnie is seeking an experienced Interim Director of Nursing (DON) in Texas to lead clinical operations and ensure regulatory compliance. You will oversee nursing services, drive quality improvements, and partner with physicians to develop resident care plans.

As a hands-on leader, you will manage payroll, budgets, staff training, and documentation, while maintaining compassionate, resident-focused care and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Texas
• Proven leadership in nursing management and clinical operations
• Geriatric nursing experience and restorative care mindset
• Excellent communication, organization, and critical thinking
• Knowledge of nursing home regulations and compliance

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing services ensuring compliance with policies and regulations
• Hire, train, evaluate, and manage nursing staff; delegating duties
• Provide direct support to nursing staff to maintain quality care
• Approve department payroll and manage budgets within guidelines
• Collaborate with physicians and therapy staff to develop individualized care plans
• Ensure proper charting and documentation of procedures
• Confirm nursing supplies and resources are available to provide high-quality care
• Offer ongoing training to improve staff competencies and resident outcomes
