Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta invites an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Day Surgery team on a PRN basis in Georgia. The role emphasizes preoperative assessment, patient education, and careful adherence to safety protocols within a collaborative surgical environment.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 1 year of employment start date.
• PALS within 1 year of employment start date.
• RN License (RN) required.
• BCLS Instructor within 30 days of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse Diploma/Associate/Bachelor degree required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education on peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative meds.
• Perform surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgical staff and team.
• Apply nursing process with critical thinking and leadership.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes.
