Job summary

DHR Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Full-Time Day shift at Brownsville, TX. You will deliver comprehensive patient care using the nursing process, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support quality outcomes.

The role requires Texas RN licensure, BLS, and timely ACLS/PALS; cross training is expected and leadership potential is encouraged. Responsibilities include administering therapies, documenting care, and educating patients and families within ANA standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in Texas required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ACLS and PALS certification within six months of hire.
• NRP certification within six months for Women’s Hospital employees.
• Job requires cross training to like areas; willingness to be trained as charge nurse.
• Willingness to become a preceptor after two years of nursing experience.
• Hospital experience preferred; proficiency in English and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care through all steps of the nursing process and adheres to Texas Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards.
• Implements physician orders safely and accurately; admits, discharges, and transfers patients.
• Transcribes and implements new orders; maintains detailed nursing records.
• Provides education, counseling, and emotional support to patients and families.
• Makes rounds, prioritizes patient needs, and ensures a safe, clean care environment.
• Administers medications and therapies within safe nursing practice.
• Coordinates care plans and communicates with the interdisciplinary team.
