Job summary

Kirkwood Wellness & Rehabilitation is hiring a Day Shift Registered Nurse (RN) to join our compassionate nursing team in Kirkwood, Missouri. This full-time position offers 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM within a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting.

The RN will provide resident-centered nursing care, supervise clinical staff, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians and an interdisciplinary team to uphold high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Current Missouri RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, or post-acute care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care per physician orders and individualized care plans.
• Assess residents and promptly identify changes in condition.
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as ordered.
• Supervise and support LPNs and CNAs.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Provide resident and family education.

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high‑quality, resident‑centered nursing care while supervising clinical staff and collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary team. This role is responsible for assessing residents, administering medications and treatments, coordinating care, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care in accordance with physician orders and individualized care plans

• Assess residents and promptly identify changes in condition

• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as ordered

• Supervise and support Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)

• Communicate effectively with physicians, residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team

• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges

• Provide resident and family education

• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and infection control standards

• Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives

• Maintain a safe, compassionate, and resident‑focused environment

• Respond quickly and effectively to resident needs and emergencies

Qualifications

• Current Missouri Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing

• Current BLS/CPR Certification

• Skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long‑term care, hospital, or post‑acute care experience preferred

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
