Job summary

Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas is seeking an RN for PreOP/PACU. This PRN, as-needed position runs Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, in a pediatric hospital setting.

You will manage nursing care, maintain a safe environment, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support families and children. Required is an Associate Degree in Nursing with TX RN licensure (or eligibility), and 2+ years of nursing experience, including pediatric care.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing is required; BSN preferred.
• Texas RN license or eligible for temporary permit.
• 2+ years nursing experience required; pediatric experience preferred.
• American Heart Association BLS and PALS certification required.
• Competent with Windows OS and EPIC EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage, delegate, and coordinate quality nursing care.

• Develop and maintain effective relationships with peers, leadership, and interdisciplinary team.
• Deliver family-centered, child-focused patient care per nursing process.

Job Description

• Manage, delegate, and coordinate quality nursing care
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment
• Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with peers, departmental leadership, and the interdisciplinary team
• Demonstrate accountability for professional practice by participating in educational activities, maintaining clinical competency, maintaining licensure and certifications, and completing mandatory education in a timely manner
• Deliver family centered, child-focused patient care according to the nursing process
• Utilize critical thinking and evidence-based nursing practice to provide patient care
• Serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, or competency validator
• Participate in departmental and/or hospital wide committees or task forces
• Participate in and support departmental and organizational change and provides suggestions
• Demonstrate the Scottish Rite CARE RITE values

Required Skills/Abilities

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Current Texas RN license or eligible for a temporary permit from the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
