Job summary

HAN Staff is seeking a Registered Nurse to support care delivery at a Waverly, VA facility. Night shift from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, with a local pay rate of $47.00/hour in a correctional healthcare setting.

The role emphasizes patient assessment, medication administration, and collaboration with physicians to ensure safe, high-quality care. Training and supportive resources are available for success.

Qualifications

• Must hold a VA RN license in good standing.
• Minimum 1+ year RN experience within the last 3 years.
• Provide PSV verification from licensing board if required.
• Copy of all current certifications and compliance documents.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor progress and document assessments and outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses and discharge plans.
• Respond to changes in patient condition and emergencies.
• Perform wound care and IV therapy within scope.

Registered Nurse (RN) Duties & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' health conditions and develop individualized care plans.

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

• Monitor patient progress and document assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.

• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.

• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.

• Perform wound care, IV therapy, and other clinical procedures within scope of practice.

• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control standards, and facility policies.

• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR).

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting safety and quality outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted VA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.

• Minimum of 1+ year within the last 3 years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse

• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents
