Job summary

The State of Oklahoma seeks an RN Training Coordinator to lead the facility's clinical education, orientation, and competency programs for nursing staff in a Veterans Home. The role translates regulatory and quality data into practical education, observation, remediation, and sustained bedside performance.

Responsibilities include designing annual education, validating competencies, coordinating preceptors, and ensuring compliant onboarding and health screenings.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered RN license valid in Oklahoma.
• Minimum two years nursing experience; long-term care preferred.
• Experience in clinical education, precepting, or nursing leadership preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS; instructor cert preferred or obtainable.
• Knowledge of LTC regulations, infection prevention, QAPI, and adult learning.
• Proficiency with EHR, LMS, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assess learning needs and develop an annual education plan aligned with resident acuity, regs, QAPI priorities, and facility risks.
• Design and deliver evidence-based education with measurable objectives, adult-learning principles, simulation, and knowledge checks.
• Develop, maintain, and validate role-specific clinical competencies including medication administration, infection prevention, wound care, glucose monitoring, bowel/bladder programs, emergency response, and safe resident handling.
• Coordinate clinical orientation with Nurse Managers, supervisors, and preceptors.
• Coordinate nursing orientation and onboarding with 30-, 60-, 90-day progress reviews.
• Coordinate infection prevention and employee health activities like TB screening and vaccinations.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee health information and ensure documentation is audit-ready.
• Maintain orientation documentation and competency records in the LMS.
