Job summary

Inova Fair Oaks is seeking an experienced RN Clinical Educator in Labor and Delivery to lead nursing education, competency assessment, and professional development for the L&D team. This role ensures high-quality care and patient safety through evidence-based teaching.

Hours are Monday through Friday with some flexibility; requires Master’s degree or BSN with master's enrollment, BLS certified, and Virginia RN licensure.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or BSN required; if RN has BSN, must be enrolled in a Master’s program.
• 2 years of progressive nursing experience in a designated specialty.
• 3 months of experience serving as a preceptor.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association; Virginia RN license or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes system strategies to assess competency of new nursing staff while focusing on quality and safety.
• Integrates theory, evidence-based practice and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences.
• Prepares annual self-development plans and professional goals.
• Contributes to quality and safety initiatives across the organization.
