Job summary

Inova Health in Fairfax, Virginia is seeking an RN Clinical Educator for the Labor and Delivery department. The role focuses on assessing and advancing nursing competency, quality and patient safety, and delivering education for both new hires and seasoned staff.

The position is full-time with normal weekday hours and some flexibility. The candidate will develop annual professional plans, pursue ongoing education, and contribute to organizational quality and safety initiatives at Inova Health.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master’s program at start
• 2 years of progressive nursing experience in designated specialty; 3 months of experience as preceptor
• BLS from the American Heart Association; licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia as RN or multi-state RN

Responsibilities

• Assess competency of new nursing staff with focus on quality of care and patient safety goals
• Integrate theory, evidence-based practice and clinical expertise into educational experiences for staff
• Prepare annual self-development plans and professional goals
• Contribute to quality and safety initiatives across the organization
