Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
• Master's Degree must be completed within 3 years of employment.
• 1-3 years of acute care nursing experience required.
• 2 years of acute care, ED or critical care nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, designs, presents, and coordinates educational programs, in-services, and orientation for departmental team members.
• Provides continuing education for unit orientation and staff development, including mentoring and acting as a clinical resource.
• Collaborates with unit managers and clinical staff weekly to identify learning needs and improve patient care outcomes.
• Maintains current knowledge of evidence-based standards and nursing practices.
• Delivers education as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent, leader and researcher.
• Provides comprehensive orientation for all new hires and conducts in-services as required.
• Documents education activities and supports quality improvement initiatives.
• Promotes adult learning principles and fosters a climate of learning and self-motivation.
