Job summary

PruittHealth is seeking a Clinical Competency Coordinator to lead education, competency assessment, and staff development across nursing teams. You will model best practices, evaluate care quality, and drive learning through programs and preceptorships.

You will coordinate training based on patient acuity, conduct orientation, oversee the preceptor network, and maintain documentation in compliance with regulations, while promoting safety and infection control across the facility.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree or RN program completion from an accredited institution.
• Experience implementing and maintaining policy-driven practices; LTC/acute care background is desirable.
• Experience in providing patient, family and/or staff education.
• Demonstrates strong clinical assessment and teaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates clinical competency assessment and training needs of clinical staff based on evaluation and patient acuity.
• Provides education for clinical staff on topics to develop clinical skills and critical thinking.
• Participates in interview and selection of clinical staff.
• Completes initial competency assessments during orientation and annually.
• Oversees preceptor program and trains staff using train-the-trainer approach.
• Maintains documentation of partner education in accordance with regulations.
• Develops and directs facility orientation and training for new employees.
• Maintains infection control program and conducts surveillance.
• Coordinates Hepatitis B vaccination program and post-exposure follow-up.
