Job summary

PruittHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse to serve as Clinical Competency Coordinator for our HCC environment. You will lead competency assessments, develop education programs, and collaborate with facility leadership to ensure high-quality care.

The role emphasizes role modeling, training, and evaluation of staff performance, with ongoing education and documentation maintained per regulations.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience in policy-driven practices is desirable; state/federal regulation familiarity a plus.
• Experience in patient, family or staff education is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical competency assessment and training needs.
• Provide education on diverse topics focusing on clinical skills and critical thinking.
• Participate in interview and selection of clinical staff.
• Complete initial competency assessments during orientation and annually.
• Oversee preceptor program and train staff to maintain standards.
• Conduct competency assessments based on patient conditions and acuity.
• Meet with DHS to review learning needs and implement education plans.
• Communicate with unit managers about orientation and education needs.
• Review outcomes to identify learning needs for partners.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Serve as Pruitt University system administrator and promote its use.
• Maintain documentation of partner education.
• Develop and direct facility orientation program for new employees.
• Communicate policies to nursing staff and monitor implementation.
• Establish infection control program and safe environment.
• Conduct infection control surveillance and staff training.
• Coordinate Hepatitis B vaccination program and follow up.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee medical records.
