Job summary

PruittHealth Corporation is seeking a Registered Nurse Educator to lead clinical competency programs and partner education across the facility. You will assess staff proficiency, develop ongoing education, and coordinate preceptor training to support high-quality patient care.

Key responsibilities include orientation development, competency assessments, infection control, and collaboration with DHS and unit managers to align learning plans with patient needs and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or RN program completion.
• Current RN licensure in state of practice.
• Experience implementing and maintaining policy-driven practices is desirable.
• Experience in patient, family and/or staff education is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates clinical competency assessment and training needs of clinical staff.
• Provides education for clinical staff on topics to develop clinical and interpersonal skills.
• Participates in interview and selection of clinical staff.
• Completes competency assessments during orientation, annually and as needed.
• Trains preceptors using train-the-trainer approach and oversees program.
• Conducts competency assessments to determine learning needs based on patient acuity.
• Meets with DHS to review learning needs and implement education plans.
• Communicates with unit managers about orientation and competency status.
• Reviews outcomes with DHS to identify learning needs from case mix.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Serves as Pruitt University system administrator for facility training.
• Maintains documentation of all partner education per regulations.
• Develops and directs facility orientation for new employees.
• Communicates policies to nursing staff and monitors implementation.
• Establishes and implements infection control programs to prevent infections.
• Conducts infection control surveillance and reporting.
• Provides consultation on infection control principles across departments.
• Trains staff on hand hygiene, isolation, and universal precautions.
• Implements workplace safety programs and records occupational illnesses.
• Maintains MSDS and exposure control plans for staff safety.
• Coordinates Hepatitis B vaccination and post-exposure follow-up.
• Maintains confidentiality of employee medical records.
