Job summary

Capital Health seeks an experienced CDI Specialist to improve the documentation quality of patient records. You will interact with physicians, nursing staff, and HIM coders to ensure accurate DRG assignment and risk of mortality reporting.

Required RN licensure with 2 years acute care experience; BSN preferred. CCDS or CDIP credentials preferred; strong communication and EMR skills are essential.

Qualifications

• RN license required; BSN preferred.
• CCDS or CDIP credential preferred.
• Two years’ acute care experience or three years coding/CDI experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform CDI reviews to ensure accurate DRG assignment and severity of illness.
• Query physicians for clarification of documentation when needed.
• Educate care teams on documentation guidelines and CDI processes.
• Collaborate with coding staff to ensure complete and accurate health records.
