R1 RCM Inc. in the United States is seeking a Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Specialist to review inpatient records and improve documentation quality for accurate coding and reimbursement.

You will perform concurrent and retrospective reviews, obtain physician documentation, and support CDI initiatives with education for providers and the CDI team. Ideal candidates hold an RN license with acute care CDI experience, 3–5 years in medical-surgical, ICU, telemetry or ED, and familiarity

Competenze

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Active US RN license required.
• Front line CDI experience in an acute care hospital.
• Three to five years of recent clinical work in medical-surgical, ICU, telemetry, or ED.
• Knowledge of EMR and CDI platforms.

Mansioni

• Initiates physician interaction through queries and rounding for accurate documentation and proper coding.
• Educates physicians and staff on documentation requirements, coding guidelines, and reimbursement policies.
• Applies hospital coding guidelines to assign DRG with highest specificity.
• Collaborates with coders, auditors, quality improvement teams to resolve documentation issues.
• Stays updated on CDI standards, coding rules, and regulatory requirements.
• Conducts focused reviews in Mortality, PSI, and other projects.
