Job summary

The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, KY is recruiting a Charge Nurse-M.D.S Coordinator to lead the nursing team and oversee resident assessments (M.D.S). This role requires an active KY RN license and a focus on care planning and regulatory compliance within long-term care.

The position works Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm, with a locality premium applied. Experience with M.D.S/RAI in long-term care is a plus, and a fingerprint background check will be

Qualifications

• Must have two years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• A bachelor's degree in nursing will substitute for one year of the required experience.
• Must be licensed in Kentucky as a registered nurse or possess a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
• Fingerprint-based background check required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Initiates M.D.S and Care Plan process for new residents.
• Ensures compliance with State, Federal and VA guidelines relating to M.D.S and Care Planning.
• Administer medications and treatments, meeting physical and psychosocial needs of Veterans.
• Act as a team leader within the nursing department.
