Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital is seeking an experienced RN to supervise and implement nursing care from admission to discharge. You will plan care with aging and cultural considerations while guiding a team and acting as a role model to new graduates.

The role requires RI RN licensure, a BSN preferred, and participation in ongoing credentialing, BLS, ACLS/PALS as appropriate. Day shifts with a 07:00–19:30 work period are typical.

Qualifications

• Licensure as RN in Rhode Island or compact state acceptable.
• Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred.
• Ability to provide care across life span with aging considerations.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and supervise care by ancillary staff.
• Delegate, supervise and participate in safe nursing care activities.
• Evaluate care effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with healthcare team, patient, family and community services.
• Assess and teach based on patient and family needs.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and research.
• Utilize resources to deliver quality, cost-effective care.
• Maintain credentials, safety education, BLS and ACLS/PALS as applicable.
• Identify growth needs and pursue educational opportunities.
• Serve as preceptor to new graduates and less experienced staff.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as delegated.
