Job summary

Brown University Health's Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI seeks an experienced registered nurse to implement, supervise, and evaluate patient care using a nursing process under the Clinical Manager. Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in Rhode Island or per NLC agreement.
• Demonstrates ability to provide care across the life span with cultural awareness.
• NIHSS certification within 3 months of hire; annual stroke education requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and supervises care by other staff.
• Leads by delegating, supervising, and ensuring safe nursing activities.
• Evaluates patient care effectiveness and identifies improvement areas.
• Collaborates with care team, patient, family, and community for discharge planning.
• Assesses and provides teaching tailored to patient/family needs.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
• Uses resources to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care.
• Maintains clinical competencies and completes required education.
• Identifies growth opportunities and participates in professional development.
• Acts as role model and preceptor to new graduates; may assume charge nurse duties.
