Job summary

Intermountain Health Alta View Hospital is seeking an RN Charge Nurse to provide shift-based leadership and clinical expertise. You will coordinate resources, mentor staff, and ensure safe, high-quality patient care while aligning with unit goals and policies.

You will assess patient status, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and manage plan-of-care adjustments. Strong communication and decision-making are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as an RN in the state of practice.
• Compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days of start date.
• BLS certification for Healthcare Providers required.
• Unit-specific certifications (ACLS, PALS, etc.) as required.
• Experience in the assigned clinical area and mentoring preferred.
• BSN required within four years of hire/promotion; education agreement may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and clinical expertise on shift and department.
• Coordinate unit resources to ensure appropriate staffing and care.
• delegate and direct interdisciplinary care teams.
• Assess patient needs, plan care, and involve patients and families.
• Monitor outcomes, adjust plans, and ensure quality and safety.
• Promote professional growth and enforce policies and regulatory standards.
