Job summary

Obsolete Site seeks a supervisor to manage daily operations of a childcare program within the Army NAF framework at Joint Base Lewis–McChord. The role reports to the Director, with minimal supervision, and ensures safety, regulatory compliance, and quality service to children and families.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, performance appraisals, leave approvals, and implementing DoD certification and accreditation requirements.

Qualifications

• Resumes must be two pages (or less).
• Education must be in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education, or related fields.
• Option 1: 24 semester hours plus 12 months group program experience with children/youth, 6 months supervisory plus The McCormick Credential.
• Option 2: 24 semester hours plus 12 months group program experience with children/youth, 12 months supervisory experience.
• Proof of education may be required and transcripts should be in English.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a first level supervisor for assigned staff and assists the Director in supervising day-to-day operations.
• Provides program oversight and accountability for staff performance, child safety, and customer needs.
• Supervises staff: assigns work, conducts performance reviews, approves leave, and rates performance.
• Ensures facility compliance with health, fire, safety, USDA, and program regulatory guidance.
